How to Choose Your New Bed or Mattress

Always test a bed by laying on it before you make your purchase. A bed or mattress is an extremely important purchase and will enhance your quality of sleep if chosen correctly. Laying on your back, push your hand between the small of your back and the mattress, if it slides in too easily, then the bed is probably too firm for you, if it is difficult to push your hand between your back and mattress, then it is probably too soft.

Generally the more springs in the mattress, the more support the bed will give you, or if a mattress is placed on a non-sprung divan or slatted bedstead, it will feel firmer than on a sprung edge divan.
